2021 marks the first year of Patriot Challenge as the GallantFew’s annual veteran advocacy, community fitness, and fundraising event. From 2012-20202, GallantFew hosted Run Ranger Run each February. To connect more of American to her veterans, Patriot Challenge was developed to provide participants “skin in the game” – an opportunity to benefit from their fund raising efforts.
Beginning with registration on May 1, 2020, PATRIOT CHALLENGE participants form teams of 10, 20, and 50 or more to raise funds for GallantFew’s transition support programs and their own veteran/military support initiatives. After a team of at least 10 participants takes the SPARTAN PLEDGE, logs 565 miles, and raises $1,000 — the team will reach PATRIOT status. PATRIOT teams may receive up to 50% of the funds they receive after the initial $1,000 is raised for a pre-approved local or national initiative to connect America to her veterans.
GallantFew provides individual transition support to all veterans in various stages of life’s ongoing transition. The STAR Transition Navigation program increases a veteran’s Self-Training and Response-Ability in five functional fitness domains; emotional, professional, social, physical, and spiritual.
The STAR Transition Navigation program is a veteran-initiated process beginning with an initial Azimuth Check followed by a STAR Assessment with dedicated, professional GallantFew staff and trained volunteers. Veterans received tailored services from GallantFew in each of the STAR’s functional fitness areas. As a veteran grows with GallantFew, Azimuth Checks and STAR Assessments encourage and document veteran involvement in their communities. “Connecting America to her veterans” is not a tagline, it is a tangible component of veteran functional fitness.
To date, more than 7,600 veterans have increased their Self-Training and Response-Ability thanks to the STAR Transition Navigation program.
Since its establishment in 2010, GallantFew has provided individual transition services and counseling to more than 7,600 veterans. PATRIOT CHALLENGE powers GallantFew providing the financial resources for four full-time staff members, five contract employees, and three volunteers to provide daily engagement and resources for transitioning veterans while conducting a robust schedule of local and national functional fitness events.
VetXpo is GallantFew’s exportable veteran functional fitness training program. Watch Simon Sinek share his appreciation for military service from last year’s VetXpo in Dallas/Fort Worth.
“I will not take my own life by my own hand until I talk to my battle buddy first.
My mission is to find a mission to help my warfighter family.”
